About LinkBacksmy mom will receive ipods (mostly 30 and 60gb) and cellphones as an incentive from her company...of course i asked my mom to give me an ipod...prob is the warranty. is it possible to buy an ext warranty for ipod? how much?

Re: ipod warranty? and the iPod should also be within the limited warranty period (1 year from date of purchase) for it to be eligible for extended warranty - meaning you should enroll it before the limited warranty expires..

Re: ipod warranty? you can also check warranty validity at the apple website. You can go to http://www.apple.com/support/ and enter the serial number of the iPod you get to check how many days you have left in warranty.

Although, normally we just look at the box/packaging/ipod. It's really hard to find fakes around, tho... i have personally never seen a single fake ipod...

Re: ipod warranty? If you are talking about fake as in imitation, I have seen a lot already. Specially for iPod shuffle, From a distance you won't see the diff but up close, well let just say they look similar enough. Also for iPod nano, there is a thread here regarding that.
