iPod Touch weird display..

Hello..

Ask ko lang po. Is it normal to see the black parts look like pixelated but with somewhat greenish "residue" while playing videos?

If this was already addressed, please inform me. Thank you.

Is it like that with all your videos? I think it has something to do with how the video was encoded.

all videos. even those i downloaded directly from itunes like the new maroon 5 music vid. movies also show these problems. on pictures they wont appear but when it's black and something moving, it appears.. like squares with some greenish tint..

also, when i put the touch display off and look at it at an angle, i can see something like gridlines throughout the lcd..

oh man..

you explained it to yourself, defective lcd.

If the defect appears on the same specific areas then it might be the lcd. But from your description, you are simply playing low resolution videos. I encode my own using visual hub. A 45 min tv show comes out to 175 -220 mb. That's a good reference size for you to try out.

Black is very demanding and can reveal poor video quality easily. It is my major consideration when evaluating my comversions.

but the weird thing is, the black sides when the videos are letterboxed aren't affected but the black parts on the video itself are...

have you tried a restore? If a simple restore doesn't do the trick then you may opt to claim warranty.

Hard to diagnose something we can't see. Rip a short mp4 clip of something you feel should play good on the iPod. Upload in rapidshare and post the link so we can evaluate. Otherwise, bring it in for inspection. You really have no other choice. Bring your sample clip too so they can test on another iPod.

Anong firmware nyan? Diba meron yung sa mga 1st release ng iPod Touch yung merong defective LCD na may kinalaman sa mga black pixels? Yan ba yun?
