For several days now, I am baffled by my iPod's sound volume. I really don't know if that is how it has always been. I noticed the "problem" when I plugged the iPod to a speaker. I noticed that even if I set the iPod's volume to its maximum, the output remains the same when the volume is set to the middle (or anywhere in between). It seems that the output reaches its maximum volume right down at the midpoint. I thought the problem has something to do with the speakers (a 2.1 Labtec flat panel). But when i plugged in my earphone, the same thing happens. I checked iPods sound setting. I disabled Sound Check... but the result remained unchanged. I enabled Sound Check... still the same. I went my Mac and check the Song Info... all songs' volume are set to default (File>Get Info>Options>Volume Adjustment>[Slider set to None]).
What seems to be the problem here?
btw, I have the latest software update (3.0.2)
same volume output for both settings (refer to attached images)
"didt work. maybe the ipod just doest get that loud. i tried stock earphones and tried sony v150 headphones and it doest really get louder it just the volume maxes out at the middle of the volume slider and if you put it up more it just sounds the same as if it was in the middle. i tried the itunes method btw." (SupremeGod7 on iPod's volume output).
