If you formatted your ipod in fat32 on a pc then it will work on both platforms. But if you fomatted your pod on a mac it will not work on a pc.

I dunno if I'm just imagining things but I have a mac-formatted iPod and when I tried formatting it to fat32, it somehow got slower and some of my songs doesn't play at all.

Anyway, you can format your iPod by running the iPod Updater using a PC.

i have a 40GB 4G ipod. i've had it for almost 2 years now. i had it formatted in a PC at the Apple Center where i got it from. i don't know what file system was used when it was formatted.

why is it not being detected when i plug it to my macbook to retrieve my data since i used it more as an external storage device than a music player? or it's not supposed to be detected since it was formatted in a PC?

Hi! I'll let this out to anybody in the room. Hoping someone could help.

I have an oldschool IPOD (PC), first batch circa early '03. I'd like to use it again however on my new MacBook.

Is this possible? Back then Itunes was just an idea..we were using jukebox. Do i need to revert to that application?

Thanks in advance to who ever could help me out.

    Thanks!
