Mythbusters Season 1, Episode 6 was about whether a person wearing metal piercings on his lips/tongue would be more susceptible to lightning strikes than someone not wearing metal. They found that someone with metal jewelry would be more susceptible to lightning strikes than someone who wasn't wearing any, but also found that the lightning did not strike the metal piercings directly due to the small size of the same. The metal piercing had to be the size of a doorknob for lightning to strike it directly.
