Ipod moves to next song after 40-50 seconds
Im having a problem with my iPod. 3 of my songs stop playing(haven't tested all songs yet), it would play for about 50seconds then it would move to the next song When i go back to the song and forward it, it would play continuously. Could this be just the song i downloaded to my itunes? but the music play okay in my itunes. Is there a problem with my ipod. Help...

It could be the songs. This used to happen with my old 3G iPod. 2 songs bought from the iTunes Store would stop at a certain time whenever I play them, the iPod would just skip to the next song as soon as it reached a certain point in the "defective" songs. The songs play without any problems in iTunes though. My new iPods also didn't have any problems playing those songs.
I never did find out what was wrong, Apple even let me download the songs again but my old iPod still had trouble playing them. I can actually fast forward the certain point in the song and it would continue playing. I guess there's something with the encoding that my old iPod couldn't handle.
EDIT: Just an idea, maybe you can try burning those songs to a CD then re-ripping them back into iTunes. If the songs aren't DRMed, you can also use ffmpegX to transcode them to MP3 or AAC.

This happened to me with my nano as well, also just with protected AACs. I just reset my nano and everything played fine after that. No problems to this day.

I suggest it use the song converter on you Itunes just highlight the 2 songs then select convert selection to ACC.
It happened to me also after conversion no problems after that cheers.

That's exactly what's happening with my iPod 3G. all other songs plays fine but just with this 3 song. ill try the suggestion above to burn it then rip it. and i'll also try ffmpegx. This would really be the song problem. question answered. Thanks a bunch...

I also have the same problem, only it's happening in reverse... the song plays ok on my 5.5G iPod Video but it skips to the next song after a while on my iPhone and my sister's iPod Touch.
I converted the mp3 to AAC and it played from start to finish...is there a solution other than converting though?

Probably not, short of Apple fixing it in an updated iPod firmware. As an end-user, I think the only option now is to transcode (re-convert) the songs to a "cleaner" file.

Am experiencing the same thing too. I converted the whole OST of Step Up 2 to mp3, and for some weird reason or another, Low stops playing after 35 seconds. I tested my file in my iTunes, but it played the whole song. Is my iPod allegeric to Low?
