ipod mini 6gb or ipod nano 1gb for the same price?

someone is selling me a 2nd hand ipod mini 6gb complete with box for the same price as a brand new ipod nano 1gb. i'm torn between which ipod to buy. the mini has 5gb more worth of memory but has no colored screen and slightly bigger than the nano plus of course it's 2nd hand but nano can only contain up to 250 songs.

I think you mean a "2nd hand iPod mini 6GB"? It's really up to you. We know the mini line has been discontinued, but as long as it works, why not?

I myself got an iPod so I can listen to my mp3s. It's tempting to get one with a color screen, but mine still works so I still use it. If and when it dies, then I'll get a new one for myself.

The nano is faster, battery lasts longer, is lighter, is thinner, and is not as sensitive to breakage (except scratches) as the mini due to its use of solid-state memory.

If you are only using the iPod for music, the mini should do. But if you plan to carry pictures with you, then the nano is an option.

Depends on your priority.
If size is your priority and security for warranty (assuming the ipod mini has no more warranty)
then the nano is for you

But if storage is an option for you and you dont care about placing pictures in your ipod then the mini will be the best choice.

i'm almost sold in getting the mini instead. i just read that the mini has longer battery hours than the nano. i think 250 songs won't be enough since that will equate to about 25 albums only. the only drawback is that i'll miss the colored screen and the pics which i think is pretty unecessary since it can be used to show to your friends only considering the size of the screen of the nano.
