iPod Hard Drive Replacement
I own a 4G 20gig iPod and it broke. I brought it to Ynzal for repair and they told me that they could not repair it since the hard drive was the problem and apple service centers here are not yet authorized to make such a change. I tried checking out apple's website to e-mail them regarding the matter and ask how much will it cost me to have the hard drive replaced and if Apple Singapore can do it. However, I cannot find an email for apple support. Would anyone know their e-mail? If not, would anyone know how much will it cost me to have the hard drive of the iPod replaced? Thanks.

Re: iPod Hard Drive Replacement
According to PowerMac, the hard drive is not included in the parts replacement program for the iPod. If it's still under warranty, then you get your unit replaced. If not, too bad.
I'm looking for a 60gb hard drive as well coz my daughter dunked her 60gb iPod while getting a foot spa. Smart:slanted:
Since it's not under warranty anymore, I opened it up and took a look. Piece of cake to replace except replacements are hard to find specially here.
Any body want to sell a busted iPod?

Re: iPod Hard Drive Replacement
I see. I want to get mine replaced as well. I wonder where we can get replacement hard drives for the iPod. Powermac Center in Megamall accepts busted iPods and you get a 10% discount of an iPod purchase. But if just replacing the hard drive would be cheaper than buying a new one with a 10% discount, I'd rather replace the hard drive. I sure hope someone here can provide us with a source for hard drive replacement. How do you open your iPod?

Re: iPod Hard Drive Replacement
I changed the battery of my iPod recently (c/o longbeard) and I was able to open my 3G ipod using the included tools... They look like screwdrivers.
Impt: If you are going to try and open your iPod, I suggest you use plastic tools and not metal ones. Goodluck.
