    Default iPOD Format ????

    My iPOD Video is formatted to MaCINTOSH. I'm having difficulties with transferring and getting files to WindoWs. uNFORtunately, I need to connect the MacboOk to my PC to get the files I downloaded. I would like to ask you guys if there's a way I could format the iPOD to both WindoWs and MaC at thE same tiMe? Or do i have to let go of the other?

    i use my ipod video to transfer files in disk mode from my mac to my pc and vise versa, and sofar have not encountered any problems. Dis you enable disk mode in itunes?

    Im sorry, it's "Enable disk use"
    it's in the options of your ipod in i-tunes

    make sure that your ipod is windows formated so that it will be read by both platforms.

    to do this:
    back up everything in your ipod
    connect to a PC with i tunes
    it will as you if you want to format it and erase everything just say yes.

    Ok thanx...I'm gonna try it. Hope it works...Is this like using my iPOD as a hARD drive? Are the files viewable in my iPOD like for example Mp3s and videos Or i still have to install them using iTunes?? I still have a lot of things to learn with this iPOD...Awwwwww:slanted:

    you cannot access your mp3's loaded with i-tunes, and you can only sync your ipod with 1 computer with itunes... otherwise, itunes from the other computer will erase your previous library.

    if you want to copy/access your videos and mp3's stored in your ipod(the one's synced from itunes) then you need a third party software that access those files... im not sure of the names of applications that does that, just google it.

    for me, no need in formating ipod in wndows... it should detect it as a usb drive on the fly...
    i do this in many windows machines already, and all of them detected my ipod.

    freeware


    im not familiar with windows counterpart to access your mp3's that were synced in your ipod.
