ipod case for $1500 and karl lagerfeld

yup, its a $1500 carrying case for 12 ipods from fendi. based by designer karl lagerfeld's own carry case.

karl is known to be a big fan of the ipod. based on what i've read this morning, his collection of ipods is now almost 70 units.

"Lagerfeld has converted his collection of 60,000 compact discs to a unique iPod storage system, according to a recent report in Womens Wear Daily. Lagerfeld keeps most of the iPods scattered around his various homes, which, in turn, are scattered around the globe."

"The New York Post reports that Lagerfeld has created a $1,500 iPod carrying case called the Juke Box that can hold up to 12. Assuming you're carrying 12, 40 gig iPods at $500 a whack, the total value of that carrying case is $7,500 (including the case). And that's just the hardware, we didn't estimate the value of the 120,000 songs held within the iPods.

That thing better come with its own security guard."

hmm. had it been a thing of beauty, then i would have been rendered speechless. not being so, a few words come to mind: excessive, superfluous, wasteful, and tacky. :sick: (it's green because it's sickening, and not because of envy.)

For that much I'd think the iPods would at least have their own compartments, not bunched up together in one net pocket. They'd be scratching each other :/
