Default iPod / Car cassette deck users, rejoice!

Check out this new product from Griffin Technology called the SmartDeck.

"SmartDeck allows you to control your iPod using the built in controls of your cassette player. Using patent-pending sensing technology, the SmartDeck determines which commands the cassette player sends to the iPod.

SmartDeck is more than just a cassette adapter for iPod; it achieves truly seamless integration between iPod and cassette deck. Users can utilize the cassette deck's forward and rewind buttons to advance to the next or prior songs in the iPod playlist. In addition, pause and stop buttons do what pause and stop buttons are expected to do. When the user hits the cassette deck's Eject button or switches from Cassette to Radio, Griffin's SmartPlay technology automatically pauses the iPod."

Anyone driving the older model CRV having trouble using their cassete adapters? Mine just won't play, and so does my bro's friend who drives the same model. It's the one with the 2-din headunit. Thanks!

i think most cassete deck users just use the conventional cassete deck adapter (original sony or generic ones you see in music stores)-- i use that in the car i use when my regular car is coding..

but IMHO, i prefer using the belkin auto kit--cig lighter --then links into the dock connector of my ipod-- the belkin kit is connected via RCA jacks to my HU.. better quality than the cassete deck adapter
