Re: Ipod 1st gen vs. Ipod 2nd gen Feature-wise, the only advantage of the 2nd Gen is the external speaker and Nike+ like what Elx200001 mentioned. But overall, they still have the same specs (1st Gen). If you will be upgrading to the same capacity (8GB), i guess you'd better skip it.
