Ipod= hard drive?
Hi everyone, just a question to ask, i tried to make my ipod be detected as an external hard drive instead of an ipod so I went to itunes clicked on PREFERENCES then clicked on IPOD. There are 4 option boxes which you can check and uncheck, 2 boxes are checked (open itunes when ipod is attached and display album artwork on your ipod) only update checked songs is unchecked but I cannot check it (it is not highlighted) enable disk use is checked but is also not highlighted (i cannot change it) if anyone can give me some help on this, it would greatly be appreciated

Re: Ipod= hard drive?
I think "enable disk use" is preset if you select "Manually manage songs and playlist" and is optional if you use the automatic update options.

What do you mean by "detected as a external hard drive instead of an iPod" ? When you plug it in it technically is an external hard drive.

Re: Ipod= hard drive?
It should be detected as both. Use itunes for music, pictures, and video. Go to finder and you should have your ipod mounted there. You can drag and create folders etc from finder.
