iPhone screen is DEAD.. Help!!

Guys,

I need your help.. My iphone screen suddenly stopped working- i cannot see anything in the screen and it is just completely blank and no back light (as if it is off). It just suddenly happened and I dunno the cause.

I tried testing the phone through call and phone rings. I can even answer the call so the touchscreen still works.. I can also hear the text tone when i recieve texts. I thought the phone is still working, it is just the screen that is busted..

What should i do???

this has happened to me before.. you need to sync it with itunes.. then it will come back.

Also try to hard reset the phone.

Press and hold down the Sleep/Wake button and Home button simultaneously for 10 seconds until it restarts.

Guys,

Sync did not work!!!

Restore is also not working.. I got stuck with error "An error has occured (1011)."

What should i do???

why did your screen die?
cause?
did you drop it? or accidentally drowned in water?

restore might not be such a good idea. Unless I am mistaken firmware 2.0 is now
out and to restore using itunes will result in the jailbroken iphone (1.1.4 or earlier) being unusuable
for calls and text.

read the threads on 2.0.

It is for the same reason why I've desisted from tinkering or tweaking my iPhone until
such time when the "wise guys" finally figure a safe way out of 2.0.
