iPhone Mail function non responsive-Pls help

I need help with my iphone. My wife retrieved a few emails from my iphone and opened some pictures that were received as attachments. When she clicked a few picture icons to open them the iphone hung up until it went back to the home screen. Whenever I push the mail icon now it shows an empty inbox screen and hangs for a minute and goes back to the home screen again. Everything else seems to be perfect. I also tried to change the settings and erased all accounts but it still doesn't work.

Any tips on what I can do to fix or reset my mail? Muggers, Please help. Thanks in advance.
