iPhone first generation battery
Good day peeps,
I charged my iPhone last night and disconnected at around 11pm. So thats 100%
I woke up and prepared to go to work, thats around 7am the battery is at 64%
I played some songs on the way and did some SMS arrived at work around 9 now the battery is at 43%
I sent several SMS, its now 10:46 am and the battery is at 38%
My WiFi, edge and bluetooth are all off. I havent made any calls..
Does this mean I need to have my battery replaced?
Thanks,
Allan Paul Sy Ortile|

Re: iPhone first generation battery
its unusual to goto 100% to 64% when the iphone is on standby....
try restarting your phone from time to time, meaning turning it off and on again say once a week (or more). that will terminate previous programs that are running in the background wc may be draining your batt.
if its still that way, then MAYBE your battery needs replacing
hope this helps

That's too bad.. yeah I would like to know also how old is your iphone?
Me I dont really experience battery problems since I always turn my iPhone off before I sleep and never ever used it to play MP3 (since I got my old trusty 80GB iPod)

Re: iPhone first generation battery
suggest you have the battery replaced. If not, just follow the battery saving tips that we all know: turn off wifi, tone down the brightness, etc. I also have a first gen iphone and the battery is still up to my standards (up to a full day of moderate to heavy use). Also, if replacement is not an option at this time, just buy an external recharageable lithium ion battery recharger. It cost less than 1,500 in Greenhills. I've been using one for months now and it gives me a lifeline just in case I don't have access to AC.

Re: iPhone first generation battery
does it happen regularly? if not, check for rogue applications that may be hogging your iPhone's battery. observe again for a couple of days. if it happens regularly then it probably is your battery.

Do you need to turn off the iphone once a week? Where can you avail the battery? Just in case. Thanks.

Okay, I played with VNC and google earth for like 30 minutes when I was having my lunch and now its down to 8%
as for the age, im not really sure because this is a second hand phone..
Im planning to get brando's battery http://shop.brando.com.hk/prod_detail.php?prod_id=02068 since it just costs 23$ or roughly 1.3k.. Soldering is not an issue since marunong naman ako though what im afraid of is damaging the case..
well bahala na.. ill observe this muna and try restarting .. baka nga may rougue apps running sa background.
