iPhone: which is better? v.1.1.1 or v.1.1.2?
what's better? like for an overall rating? aside from the fact that most apps are not yet compatible with the latest version... I'm talkin about improvements in any aspect for both firmwares. Sure a lot has been said over blogs and etc, but i wanna know first hand info from iPhone owners who prefers the other firmware version... tnx

I prefer 1.1.2 simply because it can now interpret text messages from non-numeric senders correctly.

i'm on 1.1.1 but from what i know, you get all the features in 1.1.1 and then some on 1.1.2 like what Ranma mentioned.

I'd say 1.1.2 is better if only for the advantage sir Ranma mentioned, and I'd venture to guess that most 1.1.1 users would upgrade in a heartbeat were a less tedious process available to them.

Amen..
I do appreciate it's small improvements, but it's not to die for yet.

Exactly, I don't think the minimal improvements in 1.1.2 are worth the tedious and risky process of updating from 1.1.1, especially to those not very savvy with the whole downgrading upgrading restoring etc etc etc methods.

All unlocks have their downside and risks. Migrating to an unlocked to 1.1.2 is actually easier than unlocking a 1.1.1 at the time when jailbreakme wasn't around yet. From an OTB 1.1.1, it'll only take you around 30 minutes and you'll have a 1.1.2 that's ready to use. And although some may consider the benefits to be minimal, those little things are the very reasons that make the iPhone much more of a joy to use.

DarkCast, have you managed to unlock a 1.1.1-OTB phone to work with 1.1.2? I thought there were problems with the new bootloader?
To answer the question: 1.1.2, any day. If you've done the virginize procedure, or the old 1.0.2 => 1.1.1 update, going from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 is fairly trivial.

iam back to 111, i think for now 111 is better, 112 have many problems, like no phil telecom list, need manual input it in the phone matrabaho, meron dialling problem need to fix it, sluggish sms, the worst no signal

Yes. OTB 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 unlocked is fairly simple. OTB 1.1.2 would have to use the TurboSIM method for phone functions to work.
