iPhone battery sudden discharge
I was using the iPhone, surfing for about five minutes on Safari with the battery meter reporting about 50% when suddenly the screen goes off and the iPhone says it wants to be plugged in. I then plug it in and after about minutes, the battery meter jumped to approximately 50% again. Everything seemed normal after those five minutes of charging, then about 15 mins after, it discharged again. This has already happened a couple of times to me.
Im thinking its more of an inaccurate battery meter than a problem with the physical battery.
Does anybody know that's wrong?
P.S. The iPhone turned was last charged about 48hours ago before it turned off.

Re: iPhone battery sudden discharge
Weird. My friend actually had problems with the battery draining on his iPhone like crazy too. What was the method used to unlock the iPhone (firmware, 3rd party applications, etc.)? You tried resetting it? Hope it's not a hardware problem.

Was your phone installed with OpenSSH? If so, maybe the ssh service is still running; try installing Services from Installer then you should be able to check if SSH is indeed on or off. Hope this helps. Thanks.

If wifi is turned off SSH should be disabled too but it wont harm the battery that much, i think there's more causing those batteries to drain faster possibly firmware or physical defect of the battery.

Re: iPhone battery sudden discharge
I have OpenSSH installed and Services.app as well. Actually, I don't have any problem with the duration of the battery. If measured, it is on par with the numbers given by Apple given for talktime, music playback, etc. I just wish that it would give more indication of when it was going to turn off. It shows 100% for a really long time then the battery suddenly starts tumbling down. Granted my iPhone is less than a week old. Do you think this will improve after a few more cycles?
It's an OTB 1.1.1 iPhone unlocked by Anysim 1.1

Re: iPhone battery sudden discharge
after hearing all those inputs its probably a software/firmware issue, try restoring the iphone and see what happens.
