So it is 299.99 pounds for the 8GB and 359.99 pounds for the 16GB. Not bad, still pricey for me though.

Actually, at Euro 69.56 to Php 1, the 8 gb is P20,868 and the 16 gb is P25,041.

If the Phils does indeed get those prices, it's tolerable. Not much different (if not cheaper)than the grey market prices of the 1st gen iPhone when it first came out.

Hope these are attached to regular plans (like 500 a month) or prepaid plans though, and not to the premium Globe plans.

I don't think you can rely on another country's price to determine the price in the Philippines. THe iphone's prices in Japan, when they are released on July 11, are 23,040 yen and 34,560 yen for the 8 and 16 GB respectively (1 yen=.40 Pesos). Here's the price announcement:

Obviously, the UK prices are a lot more expensive than the Japan prices.

i think the price from UK are for pre-paid units while the ones from Japan comes with postpaid accounts.

Uk is different from Brit Pounds... so I believe the price would be more than 30k...
