iPhone 3G openline
Hey guys, need your opinion, Globotel sell an openline iPhone 3G, 16GB for Php47K.
They said it is not hacked, can get updates from Apple and with 1yr warranty. Is it true? I thought Globe is exclusive distributor of Iphone 3G.

Warranty for that unit will not be honored here in the Philippines since Globe is the one handling service for the iPhone. You'll have to bring it to HK for service.

Re: iPhone 3G openline
You might want to ask for the original receipt (one that is issued by 3HK) if you buy this item.
For Apple HK to acknowledge the warranty, you will need the original receipt that 3HK issued during purchase because the warranty period starts on the date of purchase.

So I think you can receive services from Apple philippines. Since its an apple product. You don't need to send it to HK. Its an apple product, you'll receive 1 year warranty, it's just unlocked.
iMac 3Ghz (2008 model), Macbook (2007/11 model) 2ghz, iPhone 3G 16gb black, iPod Touch (1G w/Jan Soft Update and iPhone 2.0 firmware) 16gb, iPod 5G 30gb black, iPod Nano 1G 4gb black, (I was first an iPod fan before I made a switch to Mac), VAIO Type C w/ Windows Vista Crap Premium. Airport Extreme, Wireless Apple Mighty Mouse and (Mighty keyboard?).

According to this, iPhone's warranty is country specific...
3. Can I get my iPhone serviced outside the country of purchase?
No, service for eligible repairs is only available in the country where your iPhone was originally purchased.
