Wink iPhone 3g or iPhone 1st gen??

To those who had experiences with iPhone 3g and iPhone 1st gen, lets hear what youve got to say.... considering all the factors and its over all quality, use, and features, etc... which of the two is really and truly better? thanks

3G is lighter compared to the 1st gen but everything else except the GPS part is the same.

Support wise, the 3G is a better investment since it will handled by Globe and no more unlocking and jailbreaking that happened during the 1st gen scene.

I've tested both.. literally tested both even the iPhone 3G Globe version days before the launch party last August 21.

Go for the iPhone 3G.. its definitely better than the 1st gen. It has a better feel, it's actually larger and thicker than the 1st gen but only by few mm.

If not for the reported cracking of the plastic backing due to plastic fatigue, and the reported 3G hardware problem, I would have chosen the Iphone 3G. All the other problems i.e. firmware problems, app crashing, are all minor and can easily be remedied by updates.

actually they are almost the same but get the 3g.

    its legit
    has warranty
no more hassle of jailbreaking, unlocking, etc
costs the same as when classic was released last year.

1st Gen for flexibility, and back case durability...Lower tag-price too!
This happens. This is an anagram.

Here's what I'm thinking right now:

I bought my original 8-gig iPhone less than 25 thousand pesos last year. It's unlocked and jailbroken.

The 16-gig iPhone 3G sells for more than 43 thousand pesos. It's locked and not jailbroken.

I'm pondering if the 18-thousand peso difference is worth--

    1. The 8-gig capacity.
    2. The benefit of going legit (no more cumbersome unlocking and jailbreaking procedures).
    3. Clearer and louder sound quality using the stock earphone and the built-in microphone.
    4. The better feel in your hands.
    5. Clearer resolution.
    6. No more need to use earphone adapters.
    7. The 3G experience.

However, is the 18-thousand peso difference really worth it when--

    1. The back plastic cover is more prone to smudges and cracks.
    2. There are less compatible accessories. (My Altec Lansing charging speaker may no longer work.)
    3. I can no longer download a free program to forward SMS and turn off the autocorrection since the iPhone 3G is locked and not jailbroken.
