iLike - a new community to share and explore your music with your friends

iLike is a website that allows you to organize your music, share it with friends, and legally download free music from bands of similar styles of what you listen to. The website makes use of a sidebar that is used with Apple's iTunes. The program and sidebar are not required in order to use the site but allow for ease in discovering new bands. Although the website is still in a somewhat beta version, it is open to anyone.

iLike allows for the user to download a side bar for use with Apple's iTunes music program. The sidebar reads the music that is listened to and suggests similar music as well as showing you free downloads from the site GarageBand.com

iLike uses surveys, the website, and the side bar in order to calculate what the user's musical tastes are. The user is prompted many bands when first signed up and given the option to check whether or not the band is liked. The website also features a broad variety of bands and artists that the user can find using the search feature. Using a special algorithm iLike is said to calculate recommendations for users.
