iHome as iphone charger

is it ok to leave iphone on iHome every night until morning?
will this not affect the battery life and its performance?

i have done this quite a number of times and so far, i have not encountered any problems. i do this when my wife and i have to charge our iphones at the same time. i wake up in the morning realizing i have forgotten to remove the iphone (always the case, sometimes even from the usb charger) from the ihome but no problems yet. not a good battery care practice i guess.
