i need help in iphone regarding versions and applications
hi iphone gurus!! well, i can say that iam a noob when it comes to iphone and any apple things, but i know a lot in windows. well, i have an iphone, and uhen i unlocked it, it became a v1.1.1 then when i thought of putting application, i tried ibrickr, sadly the ibrickr wants me to turn my iphone bak to 1.0.2. ( I ddnt know that winscp can put app, stupid me) so i downgraded to 1.0.2. now i think i can put application. but after reading more threads in here and i asked my friend, he said that v1.1.1 is better. so my question
- which v is better when it comes to putting applications or anything in iphone v1.0.2 or v1.1.1?
- i know in v1.0.2, i can use ibrickr in putting application files or anything, and in v.1.1.1 i can use winscp, am i correct or are there any other programs? in both v1.0.2 and v1.1.1
- can i use ibrickr in v1.1.1? like if i open ibrickr it wont tell me to downgrade?
- is it a dumb thing that i downgraded my iphone from 1.1.1 to 1.0.2? and can i still upgrade it to v1.1.1?
thank you very much! i also read some threads but its still complicated for me to understand some stuufs. thank you!

Re: i need help in iphone regarding versions and applications
hi, i am no iphone guru but i'll try to help out.
-v 1.0.2 is more friendly with current applications. do note that i notice newer versions (like installer) tend to support 1.1.1 and in the future it may support only 1.1.1.
-you cannot use ibrickr for 1.1.1.
-downgrading to 1.1.1 to 1.0.2 is not a dumb thing to do unless you did it yesterday =)
still no such thing as a dumb thing only honest mistakes. anyway you can still upgrade to 1.1.1, just "virginize" your phone again and do the unlock 1.1.1 using anysim 1.1. HTH

hey benzng, that really helpd, analysisng that its like both v.1.0.2 and v1.1.1 weight is just the same, so there no real "very nice version" uhhm question bout thah virginizing thing, i read threads about that a few days ago and darn it was so difficult. is there any "SIMPLE AND IDIOT FRIENDLY" virginizing guide for windows, coz what i see now are majority with mac users witht hose fugu and cyberduck( am i correct).? uhhmm hey benzng, what do you prefer for me a 1.0.2 or 1.1.1? is there anyway i can upgrade with out that virginizing thing? coz studying "virginizing the iphone" will take a lot of braincells for me damn. when i unlocked my iphone it took me 8 hours (so much mistakes).

From what you said above, I would recommend you stay with 1.0.2 for now.
Just wait for the easier method that is around the corner either from the Iphone Dev Team or Elite Team

Sir bkshadow, I believe you need to "virginize" your 1.0.2 iPhone only if you used unlock applications that modified the NVRAM (e.g. Anysim 1.02, iUnlock, unlock-fast). If, however, you used Anysim 1.1, you simply need to "prepare" your iPhone prior to upgrading its software to 1.1.1.

Re: i need help in iphone regarding versions and applications
did the upgrade last night. stayed up till 2:30 am. =)
anyway ibrickr works pala on 1.1.1, i had a anysim v1 unlock phone so i virginize it, jailbreak and unlocked it via anysim 1.1, so far everything ok except youtube.
if you've unlock via anysim 1.1, then based on my experience what you do is just download independence 1.2.5 run the install pre 1.1.1 and upgrade then jailbreak again. Not sure but ask around. =) HTH

Sir bkshadow, hacktheiphone.com's a good site. It has easy-to-follow instructions, complete with pictures. And you can be sure the guide works, because the owner of the site actually tested the guide -- and confirmed that it can be replicated -- before posting it.
