HOw long do your batteries last?
I just got my iPhone 4 days ago and been playing with it (installing apps, doing some internet, checking out apps) I havent watched any videos nor play music though. But the battery life is down to 25% at the end of the day. Is this normal?
I practically have to charge my phone everynight.
My firmware is V1.1.1

Re: HOw long do your batteries last?
Coming from using a generic phone, I am also having issues with iPhone's battery life. I go to office at 9 and come home at 6, when I get home at 8, battery is zero.
But because of the loads of features plus the coolness factor of the phone, I cannot complain. You can charge it at the office anyway.

a big factor of battery life is the amount of time you use the screen. for a normal use, I get 10 hours of usage (around 3 hours with LCD on and 7 hours music playback) and around 1.5 days of standby time

I once misplaced my charger and couldn't find it the whole weekend. I made calls and sent SMS but no iPod use and my iPhone lasted me that whole weekend.
So I don't know if it's normal that at the end of each day it goes down to 25%.

That's normal. I, too, came from a SE W850i and the battery on that thing would last for days.
To conserve battery, make sure you turn off ssh when not in use, minimize the use of screen, put the phone on silent and vibrate off.

I charge every other day. But I seldom use the iPod function. I do have lots of phone calls though, and my wifi is constantly on, both in the office and at home.

How long is "doing some internet"? The biggest drain on power aside from the RF chip (when in an active call) is the LCD so power consumption for functions like surfing or video where the screen is on all the time is high. Apple rates it at 6-7 hours for video or internet. At the end of the day then you can guestimate how much power was used by what function and determine if its within Apple specs:
Power and battery
- Built-in rechargeable lithium ion battery
- Talk time: Up to 8 hours2
- Standby time: Up to 250 hours3
- Internet use: Up to 6 hours4
- Video playback: Up to 7 hours5
- Audio playback: Up to 24 hours6
(from http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html)
I'd say your experience is normal since the phone is new and you are playing with it a lot.

Re: HOw long do your batteries last?
Mine lasts for 'over' a day even with wifi surfing (approx 1 hour), ipod music (over earphones for approx 4 hours), with 4-5 calls and frequent texting throughout the day.
I'm quite glad it can last for over a day on that when my previous WM5 phone can't handle wifi and music.
