    Default Home Button Delay

    Hello,

I noticed that when I exit from any application in my iphone 3g, there is delay in response when pressing the home button.Sometimes, i have to press it 3 times before it exits from the open application.

Is this normal? (I'm thinking it's not)

    How do I fix this?

My iphone 3g is from globe,i've had it for over a month and is jailbroken. FW 2.2

Have you tried rebooting your iPhone? It does need rebooting once in a while.

...you mentioned it is jailbroken, make sure you have no background apps running that is causing this...and don't ask me for some leads though, we can't talk about it here

i have rebooted the iphone already.I noticed i need to press it harder and right smack at the center of the button. It may be a hardware issue. That's why I asked. If this is just my iphone, then I'd have to return this to globe.

Sometimes there are just some stuff the app needs to do some clean up before showing the home screen. Have you tried doing this on the simpler apps like Clock? If it still hangs, it might be an issue with the phone itself.

@ platonick_69. Is there still the original "plastic" covering your iphone sir? sometimes that causes the delay.

oh, that one. I think I've heard some units having that hardware issue. I was mislead by your 'jailbroken' note to think it only as software issue. just as Shinrai suggests, try simple apps if it persists.

You might also want to test out a fresh-no apps installed setup of your iPhone (like fully reset to factory setting) to see if it is not caused by some apps.

It was working perfectly fine. I tried doing shinrai's suggestion. On both the clock and on notes. First, i had to do it 3 times on clock but just once with notes.I tried it on app store as well, did it only once. I'm thinking it's just how i pressed it but it wasn't like this before. The plastic has been removed by the way since day one.

I have the same problem with my wife's 3G iPhone before.. Since it was only a day old when i first noticed it, i demanded for a brand new, sealed replacement.. The globe personnel noted in the receipt that this is a hardware problem..HTH
