About LinkBacksI've been using my iphone for 2 months now. I'm on 1.1.4 jailbroken with ziphone. Whenever I receive a text message now it only vibrates and never emits the tone.. But, when u check the tones on the settings submenu it plays all the stocks tones of the iphone. Custom ringtones plays whenever there's a call. A little help please I don't want to start from scratch again

Re: Help with my sms-recieved tone pls I have a same problem w/ you when I was on 1.1.1 firmware. All I have to do is to restore to 1.1.4 using ziphone 3.0 then it fixed. You can download ziphone here http://www.ziphone.org/

Re: Help with my sms-recieved tone pls I think I used ZiPhone 2.6. Thanks for the suggestion austin96. But, I'll try to wait first for a solution which doesn't require me to restart from scratch. If there will be no solution except to jailbreak again I'll do it with the Ziphone 3.0. Thanks again sir

Re: Help with my sms-recieved tone pls this happened to me too. i'm on jailbroken 1.1.3.
surfed the web for hits and found one that helped.
if you installed an app called PYSL (SMS filtering app), then that's the culprit. somehow PYSL conflicts or restricts the tone. so solution is to uninstall PYSL and voila you have your incoming msg tone back!
worked for me. :-)

Re: Help with my sms-recieved tone pls in my case, i ddnt have PYSL installed. good for you that you didn't have any problems uninstalling PYSL. i've read in some forums that uninstalling PYSL messed up the phone. it got stuck on the apple logo during reboot. all ended up restoring their phones.
but back to the topic, i restored mine and got my sms tone back. couldnt find any other solution.
