HELP! My Mini 'Pod refuses to mount!

I need help guys.

My Mini iPod does not mount when I plug it into my iBook using the Firewire connector! I manually manage all my songs on it, and this is a major problem. The "Do not disconnect" screen shows, and the battery seems to be charging, but there is no sign on it on my Desktop nor my iTunes.

I run Software Update once a week, so I suppose I have the latest iPod Update, and the thing is, my 'Pod functions as normal when I disconnect it (by shutting down the Finder, so the "Do not disconnect" screen disappears.) But it absolutely refuses to show up anywhere once its connected.

I've tried updating all the software (Software Update again) and repairing disk permissions, and shutting down / turning on my 'Book, but nothing seems to do the trick...:wound:

EDIT: I've also tried "resetting" the iPod by holding down both the Menu and the Center Button til the Apple logo appears... No dice pa rin.

Sounds like what happened to my 20GB 3G iPod. Bring it to an authorized service center with your receipt. They might have to replace it.
