Default HELP! My iPhone power button sank!

I need help! My iPhone sleep/power button sank! I didn't drop it or anything, I was just surprised to see it like that! It would be hard for me to put the phone to sleep or turn it off. Can anyone help me? I wouldn't want to have to take the phone apart.

have it done by professionals. i don't think forum how-tos can help you without you having to open up your iphone. i believe mugger DeCode has a shop in greenhills, or contact one of the applei.ph people...

Does the button still work (after applying extra effort, of course)? Maybe it just got misaligned or something... Do keep us posted, h.chua. This could be a point of interest for iPhone and iPod Touch users.

Good luck! I hope you can resolve this issue with minimum fuss (and cost!).

hahaha we have the EXACT same problem, mine is halfway stuck. I inqired on how much it would be to get it fixed and its 2,500 since i dont have the budget YET so i just settled with bringing a nailcutter everywhere i go just incase it gets stuck. Can you still click the button or is it just very sensitive (one soft touch BAM! sleep/wake)?

mine was caused by a cheap leather case, it had a latch at the top which puts pressure on the sleep/wake button.

my switcheasy case doesn't block the area naman eh. in fact, it isolates and protects it, so maybe it was my finger or something. well at first, it was really pushed down, so under standby mode it would ask if you would like to shut it down, and it keeps going at it until i used my nail to grab it up a little bit, so now i have to use a little pressure to push it on the far side to have the iPhone put to sleep. Maybe it's from all the pressing, since i put autolock to never. i don't know. thanks for all the replies, i will contact darkcast, hopefully he can help me. i hope i don't have to pay 2.5k. hehe.
