Help! I was charged internet on my iPhone without my knowledge.

I checked my globe postpaid unbilled balance this morning and found out that out of my 8k bill, 7k of which came from internet browsing. I never used Globe Services to connect to the internet on my iPhone; I only use our house's wifi. Or I could be mistaken all this time?

I never had this kind of problem ever since I got my iPhone last November. It's been working like a charm, until this month. The sad thing is, I have to wait until my bill is finalized before I can file this case for investigation.

Can you guys help me build a good case? I don't want to pay for services I didn't avail of. Thanks for all your help.

has anyone used your phone to surf the net apart from you? they may have logged on to the web using globe and not the wifi available in you home

This is my iPhone nightmare right here.

Is there a way to permanently turn off the EDGE, or is there a foolproof solution to NEVER use the Globe Services? Especially scary is when you're abroad and this feature starts racking up tens of thousands to your bill.

Get Boss Prefs.

I implicitly keep EDGE turned off all the time unless I want to use it.

question here is do you have an edge setting on your iphone?

I could see the E on my iphone but im not scared since i dont have any edge setting in it. So no problem. Do you have edge settings set?

would turning off edge using boss prefs prevent SwirlyMMS from receiving MMS messages?

I don't have anthing written on my "Username" and "Password". But a Globe Internet hyperlink was written on the APN field. If this is the culprit, what I don't understand is why I only became a victim of this now.

Anyway, I asked the customer service to turn off both internet/mms services for my Globe account already. But the damage has been done.

You don't need a username and password sa globe since it's your SIM that's the authentication already.

I won't go into details on the hows and whys you got billed but the iPhone is just a thing and like any other machine, it won't do anything unless you tell it to (or NOT to).

Lick your wounds and charge it to experience.

FYI, hindi lang iPhone ang ganyan, nearly all smartphones that have internet capability can rack up those charges if you aren't mindful.
