Help: charger for the new IPod shuffle

Is there an available charger for the 2nd gen Ipod shuffle which doesn't need the dock with USB? I believe the USB power chargers work this way: Ipod shuffle to dock with USB to USB power adaptor to outlet. Is this the only way?

Thanks for the links. I guess I'm stuck with the dock. Oh well, it's still small anyway even with the dock.

BTW, I liked the durability review of arstechnica. I couldn't imagine a shuffle would still withstand being stepped and ran over, dropped from a 3-storey building, and placed inside a glass of beer. I wouldn't try it though. Hehe.

saw a Japanese company with a USB to jack charger specially created for the 2nd gen although there is none locally available. I think the company name is Diversitec or something like that.

A friend is also looking for an alternative by the way...thats the reason why i found the Japanese company. Will post the URL again once I find it AGAIN hehe

Hey, that's a really nice find. One thing I didn't like about the new shuffle is the need to bring the dock around to use it as a flash drive. With the Diatec Mobile Cruizer, you can just bring around an easier-to-pocket cable. Charlie, is this available here?

This really makes the new Shuffle impractical to use as a flash drive. I just got me those real cheapo PQI flash drives from CDR King.

@bisdak - i can relate, that's the thing I really liked about the 1st gen shuffle. no cable, no dock needed. sigh

Found another one while surfing the net. It's now available in the U.S. The iPod shufflebud made specifically for the iPod 2G shuffle. If you already have a USB wall charger (which most of us probably already have from previous iPods), then this is all you need. It makes the shuffle really very very portable. Moreover, it's just $6 in the States.
