Heads Up! Stolen iPhone 2G

Hi guys, need to give you guys a heads up. My girlfriend's iPhone 2G was stolen yesterday by a cab driver along Tomas Morato in QC. I just want to let you guys know incase someone might want to post it here or if there is a member who is being offered one. Please help us recover it if possible pa.

@cyrus08: Ouch. I'm sorry to hear that. Any chance your girlfriend remembers the cab name/number/plate number or other details? You could always text the number and offer a sizeable reward and when he comes to claim, setup an entrapment operation.

I hope you can recover it.

how did the Cab driver steal the phone??, is it by force or did she left it in the car?

As a matter of fact, we have the plate number. It's a Toyota Vios with the name EPE Taxi with plate number TXU 194. I tried calling the number already but it's already off. I hope there is a way to track it down.

@Tecson, it was taken by force. Good thing the cab was rolling slowly, as soon as he had hold of the phone my girlfriend jumped out of the cab with her other belongings (laptop, wallet etc.). And she was able to safely get away.

This sounds a lot like the modus operandi of that one cab driver thief that was in the news recently. I hope you've gone to the police already. Since you have the cab name & plate number, it should be easy for the driver to be caught. But what matters for you is recovery. Hopefully once the driver is caught, he'll give up any info on the whereabouts of your girlfriend's phone.

@rafaelc378 it's actually being taken cared of by the Kamuning Precinct 10. We were there yesterday and they were supposed to nab the driver this morning but he didn't go to work. They've already got his home address and hopefully this guy can be caught. The thing is, I was still able to call the iPhone early this afternoon. Now it's off, cannot be reached. So I'm assuming that the cab driver has already fenced it. I just hope they catch him soon so that he can be intimidated to give details of the iPhone's whereabouts. The sooner the better

Wow, sorry to hear Cyrus, but glad to hear People didnt got hurt.

it should be reported and follow-uped, I really think that the police should do something about it, or it will just create more cases like these, but what i dont get is how dumb these cab drivers are to steal something from somebody when they knw that his car can be identified sooner or later.??

This is really scary. Will have to warn people to not show off expensive gadgets and trinkets when you're gonna be with a stranger alone (bathroom, cab, elevator, etc). Just extra care guys, the hard times are really making people do some unsavory stuff.
