Toto, I checked out On Tour and InMotion 3 in GB1 yesterday. I felt like iM3 had better range and clearer sound (bass-wise, it was less muffled). Also I didn't quite like On Tour's design since, in order to slide it close, you have to take out the wires from underneath. Didn't get to see On Stage though.

I auditioned both side by side with altec lansing in motion speakers. My take on these two jbls: the on stage is far superior to the in motion. The sound is crisp, bass is much deeper than the in motion. The on tour speakers are quite small and between the in motion and the on tour, I would pick the in motion speakers. I don't recall if the on tour speakers can be operated by battery, but the advantage of the in motion speakers is that they can be battery operated whereas the on stage is purely ac only. hope this helps. hands down, i would choose the on stage over the in motion. if portability and ac power is not an issue for you then definitely, the on stage. I haven't heard the sounddock of Bose but a friend of mine already has it and he says that it is very similar in quality to Bose' wave radio which has a very good sound as far as small speaker devices go. Again, Bose' soundock is only ac.

I have the JBL OnStage. The sound is clear, good bass response. I'm not an audiophile by any stretch of the imagination, but I do know what I like.
The OnStage works well with all the iPod versions. You'd be surprised at how good it sounds. I haven't really compared it with the Bose SoundDock though.
It's nice and compact, easy to use, specially if you have a 3G or 4G iPod.

I've personally tested both at the Apple store and if i were to choose one over the other I would take the OnStage. The sound quality is much better and it's easier to use. As much as the OnTour's design is sleek and portable, the sliding cover has caused some problems. Even the staff at the Apple store would mention that to me. But if you can wait, the Bose SoundDock is definitely a better buy. It isn't as portable though. :2cents:
