Default Hacked iPhone, sagot pa ba ng warranty?

ya so the hackers all over are very very close to unlocking the sim...

    that is seriously exciting stuff...

but are any of you concerned about non-apple center techs tinkering with your iphone?

do you think thay will still have a warranty when unlocked?

my hunch is no, elbert and the other guys closer to the disitrubters would know better

well the warrnaty is only honored in the US. but if you're in the US, as long as the hack is just via software, then i suppose the warranty should still be honored, but flash the iPhone back to stock just in case.

Apple has the right to refuse service in case of user-caused defects like hacked iPhones. No business would do well if the company that sold you the item would be charged for the damage caused by your foolishness.

Amen to what to tweek said. Plus, no one in his right mind would be willing to let "greenhills-style" technicians tinker with their iPhone.

so if a hack has been developed to unlock the iPhone for use with local telcos, you won't avail of this foolishness then? it's your choice obviously.

if the phone is locked and later unlocked (by cable, code, etc), then the warranty is gone.

In my opinion, hacking is forging the original setting pf the phone which makes it vulnerable to any warranty by the original manufacturer. Not really sure though, might as well want to consult this with Apple

For as long as you don't tinker with the original hardware of the iPhone, it's more likely to be covered by warranty. That's why I still believe the sim-based hack is still the safest.
