Unhappy Globe Business Center's lousy tech support for iPhone 3G

Just got this 16gb iPhone 3g last week,my problem is I cannot surf the net using Globe's Edge or 3g signal,I brought it the nearest to the Globe business center here in SM Fairview,so I then ask what happen? Why can't i surf the net even though I had an Edge & 3G signal, the lady said, she didn't know,so the usual mambo jambo, she make a report on my problem & gave me a reference number & check my net connection after 3 working days.

That just sucks! That's just how they are as I get that same BS when I call the Globelines hotline when I experience some downtime with the Internet at home.

It's not iPhone-related though. Watch out for that PM

Is it prepaid? If so, check Settings -> General -> Profiles and see if you have a Globe profile there. If you don't even have a profile menu, then your phone hasn't been configured for internet. I don't know if it's allowed to post it here, but there is an official Globe URL you can visit to install the internet settings profile.

Also, I had a problem where the profile was installed, but I still couldn't browse for more than a few seconds. I brought it into Globe and they were very helpful. When he saw I had the profile installed, he went to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Network Settings. Somehow that fixed it. It's worth a shot.

globe's postpaid and prepaid has different apn's

    postpaid - interent.globe.com.ph
    prepaid - http.globe.com.ph

the postpaid apn is already pre installed on the iphone... i guess u have to update the network setting when u plug it on your itunes for the prepaid OR u need to use iphone to go to globe's website via 802.11 to configure
when everybody calls nokia... i answered iPhone; when people peek at windows... i stared at MAC; when humans aim w/ canon... i shoot with Łeica; when they swim with padi... i dive with Naui; when all men wear Hanes... i wear none

What I did was ask them the how to or failing that a copy of the how to guide they themselves use. In the end, they just gave me a photocopy of the guide on how to activate prepaid 3G browsing. Very informative and maybe you can ask for that. It also has guides on using Wiz and myServices
