Re: FAQ: New iPods
i think the search function and games aren't really big additions.. i'll stick with my 4G until a widescreen iPod comes out!

I agree with michaelkenji. IMHO, None of these are actually compelling reasons to buy a new 5G (or 5.5G) iPod. I'm sticking with my 4G until a more substantial upgrade comes out. What would be substantial?
- Wide/touch-screen iPod.
- iPod with Front Row - ability to display and navigate via Front Row type interface on the TV, and play movies at 640x480 or higher resolutions on external displays. With an IR dock you can even control it using the Apple Remote. This will turn the iPod into a real Portable Video Jukebox. Frankly I'd rather have this than iTV.

Re: FAQ: New iPods
So for the 5th gen iPods (not the latest 5.5th gen), here's what you get from the latest firmware (1.2):
1. Gapless playback
2. Fast scrolling will show an overlay of the first letter of where you are
3. Brightness adjustment, hence improving battery life
4. Battery icon while playing video
5. Double-pressing the quick wheel while on a video will bring up the brightness adjustment
6. Chapters in videos
7. Skip count
8. Games
I think the only feature that 5th gens don't get that 5.5th gens have is the search function. Very odd for Apple to hold back on that feature unless it's dependent on a hardware improvment such as a better HD or something.
Not sure if there are other differences between the 5th and 5.5th's but you should really about upgrading your 5th gens first because it seems you're basically just getting the search function, unless you need a change in the HD capacities. Try to hold back I'm beginning to think with the new Games feature, baka magka iTunes phone come Macworld nga, like what the little birds have been reporting
