Default DIY iPhone Dock Stand w/ Binder Clips (w/ pics)

    Hi folks,

Just want to share something I made at home. I was looking for a cheap stand (like the X-stand) but couldn't find one so I just made my own with binder clips. Lightweight and cheap and no worries if it breaks (it won't) Oh, we use cases so the standard docks and stands bundled with the unit don't work.

I got the how to here and here with the second modified a bit.

For my dock I just clipped a small binder clip to the cord of the cable, twisted it to make the cable go under and clipped the bigger binder clip on it, after removing the handles of course.

I just used some spare lego blocks for a more stable base. The first btw is for my GF and I only used the spare blocks for my own (the second one), hehe. It's for home use lang.

This one is just a bent clip using pliers. Since I use a cozip case, the standard ipod touch stand doesn't work.

It's for landscape viewing only btw. Perfect for youtube and movies. Thanks for looking and hope some of you guys are inspired to make your own as well.

I use The Time, the free one. Surprisingly, there aren't a lot of great digital clock apps in the AppStore.

Oh btw, I use a case so I'm not worried about scratching the back. Take that into mind if you are building one for your bare iPod Touch or iPhone
