    Default Disk Utility on iPod

Can you use Disk Utility's repair permissions on a mounted iPod?

Whenever I use iTunes to play tracks on my iPod, CPU usage jumps to about 90-100%. I've disabled iTunes online preferences (ex: podcasts), sound enhancements, and iTunes-related widgets, repaired permissions, run maintenance scripts, reset PRAM/PMU and deleted relevant preference files to no avail. I'm running out of ideas.

well, its really better to use Ipod's software but the problem is they don't have disk utility for the ipod. you can just format it i think.
