Could a PC Virus Damage the iPhone?
Hi Guys!
There's a new "Taga Lipa Are" Virus. I have it in one of my notebooks... It comes from the USB like the previous one but this one does not visibly affect internet explorer or hard disk. Instead, all USB devices inserted to the infected PC are infected with the virus. If you have named your USB say "archeronfire" the virus will change it to the name "anti-virus". It even has its own special icon. When your right click on the USB device, instead of the word open, it shows "Taga Lipa Are". When i run Avast Anti Virus scan, an icon called "Silentsoftech.exe" pops up and disappears in 1 second intervals until scan is completed. However, the Anti Virus fails to detect or remove it.
My question, if I hook up my iPhone to the infected notebook, will it damage it?
I have not dared hooked up my iPhone to the notebook, however im not quite sure if ive had the virus during my last sync...
I have recently experienced my iPhone hang on two occations this week when i unplugged it from my wall outlet charger. When i press the sleep button the iPhone does not respond even after pressing it multiple times. Hard reset needed to make it work again.
Do you think this is related to the virus? Is there any fix to this new virus?
Your expert advice and comments please.
Thank you very much.

Don't worry, the answer is NO.
Just like a PC virus can't hurt a Mac, a PC virus can't hurt the iPhone.
If your iPhone is having problems, I'm almost 100% sure it's something else.

@archeron
The Taga Lipa virus won't even have write access to the iPhone's file system since (currently) the iPhone can't be used like a normal flash drive (yet) like other iPods. It's safe for the iPhone to be hooked up to that notebook.
Having said that, I still highly recommend removing any virus infecting your system. This might help: http://leerz25.sitesled.com/files/to...R.by.Leerz.zip
