Default Copying my Itunes songs to another mac with Itunes

I tried to search but I have not found an exact answer to my question.

I want to copy all the songs from my Itunes in my Pbook and add them to my wife's existing Itunes library on her Imac so that she can put them all in her Ipod.

I copied my whole Itunes music folder on a DVD via finder but afraid to transfer them to her Mac for fear of something going wrong and erasing her stuff.

What's the best way to do this? Thanks

On her iMac, you can use iPodUtil or iPodrip to copy the music from your iPod to her iTunes library.

This is the method I used when I had to get all my wife's sister's music from her Windows iTunes to her new PB.

since you've copied your music library into a dvd. I suggest that you stick your dvd into your wife's laptop and using itunes, click file, add to library, highlight all the folders or songs in the dvd you wish to copy and click ok. all of the songs will then be copied into your wife's computer within her itunes library.

by burning your whole itunes music folder to a dvd, you already have the right idea. simply load your dvd into her mac's drive. open her itunes and choose "add to library". after the menu appears, choose your dvd, then choose the "itunes music" folder. you will see all the artists that are in your "itunes music" folder. shift-select all the artists you wish to transfer into her itunes and press "choose". all the songs of the chosen artist/s will be copied into her itunes library. easy!

just a word of caution, simply because i don't know what will happen --- when you "add to library", don't choose your "itunes music" folder and press "choose". i don't really know what will happen, but my concern is it could mess up the way itunes recognizes the songs. notice that songs are generally organized such that "artist name" folder is the main folder, with the "album" folder inside it, then with the songs (possibly numbered or not) inside the "album" folder . i hope this doesn't confuse you, but if it does, just follow my first paragraph word for word and you should be fine.

    hope this helps.

    Thanks guys,

Did that "add to library" thing and it worked like a charm.
I was carefull not to copy the Itunes Music folder for fear of erasing all her songs
