cellphone interference free speakers?
I've been listening to a pair of Altec Lansing speakers that are hooked up to my PowerBook at work for several months now. The problem is that everytime a text comes in to my cellphone, the speakers pick up the interference. I've been meaning to replace the speakers but what type of speakers do I need?
I've heard of magnetically shielded speakers, but I don't think that'll do the trick. I was hoping the Harman Kardon Soundsticks II would work, but I'm told that they suffer the same problem.
Has anyone found speakers that are cell phone interference free? Or does this not exist?

I haven't heard of such a thing. Good thing you're on an LCD since LCDs don't exhibit the irritating pulsating movements on an LCD. Good thing I've switched already.
In addition to Magnetic Shielding, they're usually found on the speakers and on it's wire but what I do know is that the shielding wouldn't be at all effective it the power plug isn't grounded (the third metal sticking out on a plug) because that's where all the static must go. Given the wall sockets here in the Philippines, it's a big constraint.

Just out of curiousity.... is it the speakers that cause the interference or the console? Because I've kept my cell phone near my car speakers in the car and not get any interference. But when I put it on top of the car stereo.. then I get the interference when I get a call or change cell sites.
