Default Auto-Correct can now be turned off!

I'm not sure if this is even news to most, but I'm just really glad that when I updated my iPhone 3G software to 2.2 I can now turn off the auto-correct feature

Was out of the country for 2 weeks, just updated last night.
I'm still glad I can turn it off now.
Was afraid if I updated abroad I'll also get the network settings from the foreign cell network and I won't be able to make calls once I got back to our good ol NAIA

yup this is a good development. someone is listening. next stop, copy/cut and paste?

OT: really, what is the problem with including copy and paste in the iPhone OS? what's making it sooo hard to do, if at all?

i wonder if it will open iPhone's security...
becoming vulnerable to attacks of i dont know... XD
apple knows it a lot though, or who knows? maybe they're just reserving these features
for their take at MWSF to make it huge announcement... XD

    think positive, trust apple ^^

I'm gonna be pissed if they include the copy/paste and SMS forward features in a brand new iPhone, not in a software update.
