Audio Gurus:Help!!!
Hi guys. I've been trying to use an external microphone on my 17"Albook but for some strange reason, it won't work. I've plugged it into the audio input port, and switched the control panel from internal mic to line in. When I try to record though, I get this really, really soft mono-like input.
I've been recording kasi thru the built in mic, but I want to try an external mic to control the ambient noise. Really need your help with this. Thanks!

Hi Johnamon,
Those karaoke type mics are dynamic elements not electret which you find in any/most computer headsets.
They won't work straight into a computer. You would have to connect that to a microphone mixer and then the output of the mixer to the computer audio in.

Thanks!
tom: thanks for the info man. have a rush deadline lang with a client, so i'll just hide in my room and use the built in mic for recording in the meantime. salamat! =)
tj: hey man. i've actually been considering that, but been holding off. i record lang kasi rough studies of radio scripts on my mac so my writers will have an easier time presenting to client. but it's been happening more often na, si the iMic looks like a good investment. i've seen it at apple center a couple of times. can't remember lang how much it costs, any idea? (i might have the company pay for it na lang =)
Thanks so much for the quick response guys!

I know it costs more than P4000 in Apple Center. I think I saw it at around P6000+. Anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong. If you can get it in the States, $39.99 or around P2240 lang.

When I inquired about it from AppleCenter-Greenbelt the last time, they quoted less than P4k (either P3.5k or P3.8k) for the iMic. They had stock then. Don't know now. Better give them a call at 750-60-84.
