Apple Leather Cases ....?!?

Ugh. Maybe I just got up on the wrong side of the bed today. Maybe I actually bit a little too hard into all the rumors that were flying around about a Tablet Mac, or an iPod Cinema, or the return of the Newton, and now I'm disappointed.

C'mon, folks. A press conference where one of the main highlights was a leather sleeve with almost zero functionality (it doesn't look like you can manipulate the player while in the case, nor can you even listen to it unless I suppose you insert the iPod in upside down ... after all, my Nano's headphone port is on the bottom) and yet this sleeve costs more than a 1GB shuffle? I wouldn't even use this case if it were bundled with the player!

Oh well. Like I said, maybe I'm just grumpy today. After all, I did succumb to temptation and buy iPod Socks.

Well, now this helps put the $99 case into more perspective ... Steve's simple black turtleneck-jeans-and-sneakers outfit costs $458!

Offhand, do Levi 501's really cost over $100? I haven't bought a pair of Levis in ages.

For the price would rather get a Piel Frama or a Vaja case. But then again I don't buy cases that expensive.

Hehehe none of the newly announced items got my attention! Well that's good, no temptation to spend. Grabe nga ang mahal ng leather cases and I agree with you Vic, kahit libre yun I won't use them too!

It's too steep for something which looks like a corporate giveaway from The Leather Collection.

It would be hilarious if a 3rd-party manufacturer designed another case to protect the leather as well.

I must admit, I'm a big apple/mac/ipod fan as the next logo wearing, powerbook/ibook carrying guy/gal. But c'mon... 99 dollars for the leather case?!?!?! That's highway robbery. It looks cool and all because it's simplistic but not for 99 dollars. I'd consider it if it was 29 dollars....

All in all it was a disappointing product announcement. All of the products were all over priced. Mac Mini included. I wished they kept the old price points or just a tad higher..

501's cost range from 3,100 pesos to 4,500 pesos - except the special edition series of course...
