Default apple care for ipods question

just a question. let's say i have my ipod, still with warranty. if i register my apple care for this, will it automatically take effect after the current warranty i have or will it overlap it. meaning, if i have an ipod for .5 years, then i register apple care, will my warranty be extended to 1.5 years or 1 year (overlapping the current .5 year)?

It will always start from date of purchase of an iPod, so don't worry it won't overlap. But make sure to keep your proof of purchase for iPod.

so i don't have to worry about activating it now? i don't have to wait till the current warranty expires? the current 1 year warranty. i can just activate it now and expect a total of two years warranty?

Hi. That's right. You can activate it anytime before the 1-year warranty expires and you will automatically have it extended to a sum total of 2 years after the date of purchase. But like ikenn said, keep your proof of purchase handy.

just one more note: the date of purchase is applecare's system MAY NOT BE EXACT, unless you registered your ipod immediately. there is an 'estimated' date of purchase on the system, based on date of manufacture and usual lapse where apple has machines in stock. but even the estimate is usually generously 1 or 2 weeks in your favor. like kenny said, just keep your receipt just to be sure. and don't wait to buy applecare. nobody* ever remembers when they bought stuff.

there MUST be something good about windows. i am sure, if we all put our minds to it, we'll find it. but not right now; i've got work to do.

just make sure you have the receipt and activate your applecare within one year of the date of purchase. you can even activate APP just after you got your ipod. it will extend your warranty for another year.

It would be better to get an email confirmation from Applecare since there were cases the enrolled Applecares for some reason was not in the Applecare Database (or unregistered).
