Airtunes Hiccups on Airport Express
Thanks to today's heavy rains, I picked up my Airport Express this morning.
I'm testing it at the moment and set it up to complement my existing wireless network at home using a Snow Airport Basestation (802.11b).
I set it up as a wireless client. It doesn't extend the range of my wireles network. It only acts as a receiver for the signal from AirTunes in my 17Powerbook.
PROBLEM: The audio will have a hiccup fit every once in awhile. The MP3's will stop and play again. I don't know the casue for these dropouts. But sometimes it plays flawlessly for an hour.
The distance is not a factor since it happens wherever I am.
I tried changing the settings on the Airport Admin Utility, hoping to find a better combination. No luck.
I also tried using other Mac portables and the same problem occures.
I checked the Apple forums and it seems that many people are having the same problems.
Is anyone experiencing the same problems? Or have any solutions?
thanks.

I happened to try using the AirPort Express using a Toshiba Windows machine (and managed to play an entire CD without hiccups). I suspect adjusting the Energy Saver preference of your book would do the trick.

Actually, after some more fiddling, it seems to be providing me with a constant feed to my receiver already. I guess I just needed to break it in.
