What's a fair deal for Mac Mini 1 GB RAM upgrade?
I want to upgrade my Mac Mini's memory to 1GB. For this I'll need a single 1GB PC2700 DDR DIMM which costs around 115 USD (roughly 6500 PHP) on some sites. Now, I asked around a local Apple Store regarding a mem upgrade to 1 GB and they say it would cost 16,000 PHP?! Is it really that expensive? Could I buy the DIMM from somewhere else and pay the apple store to install it for me? What are my options?

Definitely don't get extra RAM from Apple resellers, in general, their RAM prices are way too high. For a Mac mini, you can use any 184pin DDR400 (PC3200) DIMM module. I got mine for P5,900 (1-year warranty). Villman sells it for around P5,999.
It works great, installed it myself in my niece's Mac mini.

Yes just get it from any PC store that has 1 gig.
And if you are not comfortable in doing it yourself then you can just pay your reseller to do it for you.

Would the Apple store agree to install RAM that wasn't bought from them? I'll still pay for their labor...

Yah, they'll probably do it for you even if you didn't buy the RAM from them. I know LMK will do this for P1,500.
