Default Narcoleptic iMac G5; any advice?

Just thought to ask, since my iMac's been having strange symptoms lately.

You see, like many Apple users, I very rarely, if ever, shut my Macs down. I just leave them be, til they go to sleep, then wake them up when I have to use them again.

Thing is, my iMac been being erratic when it comes to its "sleep behavior".

Simply put, sometimes it doesn't wake up from sleep mode; and I'm forced to reset it using the power button. And its been happening quite often...

I know it's sleeping, due to the pulsing light and all, but when I try to wake it up, by tapping on some keys, or clicking the mouse, it just won't. Then the pulsing light goes out, then I have to turn it on, and log on again.

Funny thing is, when I repair permissions, its all back to normal for like a week or so, then the whole "I don't want to wake up" thing happens again.

Should I be worried? (my Pbook and old iBook are treated the same way, and they don't seem to have this problem)

    What could be causing it?:slanted:

(*gasp*! is my iMac on Valium?)

I used to experience the same when my iBook was new but somehow hasn't happened for a long time now. It may have been fixed by some Apple software update. Not sure really, I normally leave it on to download podcasts.
