mac mini G4 airport card

Has anybody installed by himself an airport extream card for the mac mini G4 successfully? :slanted:

fyi, you will need the mezzanine board (i think it's sold seperately) to be able to install the airport card extreme into a mac mini g4.

yes physically i have, why ?

you'll gonna a very thin and flat tool, like a putty knife. some models needs a mezzanine board, tama c mark sold separately, plus the antenna ata.

physically you have done it yourself, so you bought the airport extream card stand alone and installed it yourself? what about the antenna? or did you bought a set (bluetooth, mezzanine, airport, antenna) and installed it yourself?
most probably i already have the mezzanine since i already have a bluetooth installed with it.

count me as one of those who have successfully installed the airport extreme card with mezzanine and antenna. Just followed ifixit.com's pictures. Thanks to skinhead for selling me the whole package (no bluetooth though). The wifi in the macmini G4 (my pamangkin's) is working fine for more than a year now...

I have also upgraded the RAM (256mb to 1gb) & the HDD (40gb to 120gb) myself. All thanks to ifixit.com. Cleaned the insides and outside too... =)

Just like imabs, may we know why the query? =)

am planning to get an airport extream card and pop it in my mac mini, however asking some apple stores, they said that they need to get the serial number of the messanin card, etc. etc. for compatibility reason...

also... they have a diffrent price for the airport extream card (per se) and airport extream card for the mac mini... apple stores here in the phil say they are diffrent that's why there have cost diffrence...

hmmm. configurations. compatibility. di ko ata naencounter yan. i had mine and bought from a non-mugger but a mac user...my card came from a 12" powerbook g4.

from a 12' powerbook? d you dont have an antena?

maybe its because the new apple airport extreme card is now wifi N which is not supported in the macmini G4. Better look for an old second hand airport extreme card that is only wifi B/G... HTH =)
