Imac 17 are now priced between 70-80 and Imac 20 at 80-90k. big drop for an Imac product that got phased out within a year.

if you can afford the latest & greatest then I'd go for that. if not i'd get the older units.

Although the newer imacs have the same price (more or less) converting from the website dollar value! Kung P5,000 lang ang difference, definitely get the latest model. So best to wait until the new models arrive.

And, examine what you need the fastest, the latest for, it may be nice to have but you do not need it. Or for almost the same price, jump a model up like going for a G5 power Mac.

if you can afford it get the newer ones. otherwise get the old ones to save some money. but you can also consider is do you really need the extra processing power? those are some factors you should consider in buying new macs.

Processing power to me is:

Surfing
Video converting + DVD Burning
Itunes Playing
at least 3 applications: Office, Photoshop, Dashboard that I can click back and forth to with ease

and that's all at the same time.

the G5 imacs can pretty much meet your needs, at a bargain compared to the latest core 2 duos. maxing out the ram will mean a lot in terms of over-all speed and multi-tasking. with the money you save, you'll even be able to add external hard drives and other accessories.
